As Kaveney reveals in her interview in the latest Vector, From Alien to the Matrix was not her title.

I (and I rather suspect others) have talked to Nick Lowe about a book of his film criticism, but he seems curiously reluctant about it (from an excess of modesty as much as anything). There has been talk of making the archive available through the Interzone website.

Unfortunately I only read the Vector interview after I had filed my copy but Kaveney does reveal her prefered title in the first chapter:

I was pleased to see from the interview that she is currently working on a companion book of further film criticism.

I thought "Alien to the Matrix" would have been a great title but yes... the final title was somewhat banal.

Clearly, we need to start a campaign to get Nick's Interzone stuff released as a collection. I suspect that the problem is that he doesn't see his profile as being high enough to ever made it worthwhile but I think it probably is, the Interzone film column is almost universally praised even if it isn't spoken of that much.
